The flavors this food truck serves up are nothing short of amazing. Just happened to be at the tire place next door and was looking for the closest food before going home. Showed up expecting to order the steamed chicken momo, but was curious about the buffalo and what an experience. I’m stopping here as often as I can any time I’m in Fairfax.
Some of the boldest, meatiest momos I've had in years. We got the chicken and beef momos steamed, but you can also get them fried or in chili sauce. They were expertly pleated, delightfully thin, and were stuffed to near bursting with meaty filling. The seasoning used in the filling is uniquely Nepalese -- an addictive combination of strong Himalayan flavors like garam masala and cumin, combined with more eastern flavors like green onion and cilantro. Despite how tasty these were, the sauce was the star for me -- an addictive combination of savory, tangy, aromatic, creamy, and slightly sweet that I dipped each dumpling.. and then some baos we were having.. and then my fingers into 😋 We will definitely get those again! I recommend ordering in advance if you can, as the order can take a bit of time to cook, and there isn't much in the way of parking near the stall.
I absolutely loved the chicken jhol momo, buff momo, chowmein, and sausage here. The food has such an authentic Nepali taste, and everything was just as delicious as it looked in the pictures. The stuffing in the chicken momo was so flavorful, and the buff momo was really juicy, which made it even more delicious with the authentic jhol. The sausage is coated with special spices that make it taste even better, and with the sauce it tastes amazing. The chowmein is also very flavorful and really well made.
